Conversion of a barn, formerly used as an artist`s studio, into a living room/screening room for a young couple (both are film directors). The barn is connected to the main house (used as a weekend retreat) through a breezeway.
24 foot doors have been opened on both long side of the barn and the interior walls have been clad with walnut planks finished with linseed oil. The catwalk connecting to the mezzanine and the stair are in natural steel with a wax finish.
The big fireplace is created with slabs of walnut travertine imported from Tuscany and the floor is finished with river pebbles. The furniture is a mix of pieces custom-designed by us and interesting found objects discovered by the clients.
